DnD IRC

Okay so I have an idea and you all can choose from 3 games (all are basically DnD with some tweaked rules) First is, well, DnD. Most likely the 4th edition. The Second is called Hack master which is a satire of DnD and plays like it. The last is Planescape which is I think like Forgotten realms but I'm not sure since I have not played it. These will be played via IRC and you are expected to be responsible for your own character.

Do we plan on playing one at a time, with the rules entailed for each individual version (they're similar, but have slight differences), or are we blending them together...or picking one for the duration?

yeah first we gotta solve the problem of how long will our games be.

This is only for the first game. It says the Campaigns usually take 16-20 hours to complete but we should probably do it only a couple hours every day like a live group. We will also need to figure out what we are going to do with dice rolls. We could find a bot or go by the honor system.

A bot would be the preferred system. If you can't find one, however, there are several online dice-rolling programs that we could use (designate the GM to do the rolling or whatnot).

Such as the one on our forums? J/k, would that be too clunky? It'd be sad to not use it though, perhaps I should come up with another use, Other than the spinning topic of course, that hardly counts.

I think maybe we should simply make a topic somewhere on here named DnD Dice.Then have whoever is rolling the dice to simply use the one on here and submit it so everyone can see it.That's only if you don't want to go by the honor system and all the other suggestions,I mean it would be nice to use the dice on here for something you know ;

Also the games shouldn't be too long since everyone has stuff to do so 2 hours or so maybe?

You can't finish a campaign in 2 hours. We could do 2 hour sessions and have a Forum to keep track of the campaigns if that is what you mean, like a summary or a copy/paste of the IRC conversation. And yes that will work but we should have them state their Campaign in the post also.

I kinda had the idea of writing up a POV summary from my character/s in the ones I participate in, too.

By all means. It'll be fun seeing recaps from different perspectives.

Yeah that is what I meant,also it would be fun to do the stuff in different perspectives.
